Many Learning providers have and/or are considering using Moodle as their VLE (Virtual Learning Environment).

Many learning provider practitioners and other stakeholders lack confidence and have concerns about course production and/or where to start.

Their answer is to create a “sandbox” to try out Moodle; another solution is to give practitioners a complete Moodle installation on a memory stick.

Chrissie Turkington's "Chrissie's Muses" Blog provides guidance on how to create a "Moodle 2.0" on a stick; as she says...

..."it is fairly painless and I would encourage anyone to try it."

I've had a go, following Chrissie's instructions, and it was indeed easy!

Visit http://chrissiet.wordpress.com/2011/04/26/moodle-2-on-a-stick-easy-install/ to read the full blog and/or to create your own Moodle 2.0 on a stick.

P.S. with some JiTTs (Just in Time Tutorials: vidcasts etc) and the Moodle 2.0 on a stick, I can see ambitions becoming reality.

P.P.S. This is also a big plus for those thinking about upgrading to Moodle 2.0.
