Application
It was my Son, Ben Dalziel, who brought Scrible to my attention; it is free and, at the time of writing this, is in public beta (It went public on May 4th 2011).
Scrible's Basic Edition enables users, among other things, to...
Richly annotate web pages in multiple colours & styles
Save web research online & access it from anywhere
Use simple keywords to search full text of any saved research
Use tags to quickly and easily organize research by topic

WordsLike could be useful for learner writers that are in need of some 'new' words to "spice-up" their written work.
WordsLike is a handy website for the times learners need a thesaurus.
Either browse the word clouds
or simply enter a word in the search box.
Any word selected by left-clicking it in the word cloud or in the list
generated by a search will result in at least one word with a similar
meaning. Definitions are provided for every word on WordsLike.
I'm an eLearning Adviser specializing in stimulating and supporting innovation in learning via eBooks, eMagazines, blogs (including audio versions), online TV, interactive resources, forums, workshops, conferences and face2face consultations. Evaluating and becoming familiar with sustainable and new technologies allows me to respond to the needs of learning providers from a position of experience rather than 'hearsay'. Supported learning providers, in the northwest of England (UK), can contact me for FREE consultations. Based at Lancaster University I work for the JISC Regional Support Centre - Northwest.
