Manga High uses game-based learning to help students learn core Mathmatics skills.

Many practitioners do not think game-based learning is the best method for instruction however many of those same practitioners realise it can be a highly effective method for supplementing the learning process and increasing motivation for some students.

More importantly perhaps the potential of the language to give learners more autonomy over their own learning is becoming increasingly clear" quotation from 1992

Excel at Calculus

Adrian Banner, a lecturer at Princeton, has put together a lecture series (in video) that will help learners master calculus.

The 24 lectures were originally presented as review sessions for Princeton introductory calculus courses offered in 2006, and each runs about two hours.

Note: Adrian Banner has used these lectures to develop a book called The Calculus Lifesaver: All the Tools You Need to Excel at Calculus.

Tutor USA is a site that offers a variety of links for mathematics teachers.

In addition to free worksheets and lesson plans (Dead-Tree Resources), Tutor USA has a collection of video tutorials.

The videos in the collection come from sources like...

  • YouTube,
  • Blip.tv, and
  • TeacherTube.

Some of the videos are quick how-to videos while others are longer lecture-style explanations of mathematics concepts.
