"Use this reader's response activity to analyze the characters in any book then, print and collect the scrapbook pages."

Character Scrapbook...

  • allows learners to analyse characters in books;
  • could be an excellent resource for...
    • collaborative work, using an Interactive White Board (IWB) - (a wireless keyboard & mouse would help considerably), and/or
    • individual work.

Users...

  • type in the name of the book;
  • type in the name of one of the characters (If working in small groups and/or individually, perhaps they could work on different characters and take it in turn to present their 'findings' to the whole class).

Users then have an option to...

  • create an image of the chosen character and
  • write about them...

There are several pages provided for learners to 'describe' the character...

Character Scrapbook has pages where users can list, about their chosen character, ten...

  • ...things they know about them;
  • ...words that describe them;
  • ...details about their appearance;
  • ...facts about their personality;
  • ...challenges they face; and
  • ...accomplishments they achieved.
Character Scrapbook also provides resources for practitioners as well as printable versions.

Character Scrapbook...

  • is a great way to reinforce and extend learner' knowledge of any book(s) they have read;
  • could also be used for learners to plan their own story and create their own character(s).

Aimed at younger learners, Character Scrapbook could easily be used/adapted with older learners.
