I know that there are a number of learning providers who don't have a VLE for their learners to upload their (e)Portfolio Evidence, coursework, projects, etc. I'm also aware that some are using Google Docs or Microsoft Apps and other options. Well here is another possible solution, that wont fill up your email account with attachments...

Send to Dropbox is a new service that allows users to upload files to a Dropbox account via email from any computer.

A major advantage of using Send to Dropbox, over other services (MailDrop, for example) is that users don't have to install a Dropbox client or any other software to use it. This lets them quickly send files to Dropbox from any public computer without having to spend time setting up the computer.

After learning providers have allowed Send to Dropbox access to the Dropbox account, they will be given an email address that delivers anything learners/colleagues mail to it directly to Dropbox. The folder can be configured where it will save the files and options to automatically extract contents of uploaded ZIP files are available.

Learners simply attach the files they want to upload to Dropbox and mail it to the Send to Dropbox email ID. This ID obviously has to be shared with the learners so they can send files directly to the Dropbox account.

Be cautious with whom the mail ID is shared with as there is always the possibility of spam. Since Send to Dropbox doesn't allow any filtering options, a spammer can quickly inundate your Dropbox folder with junk files the same way it does to your email inbox.
