Death by PowerPoint - get rid of the endless bullet points!

This and many other 'audience led campaigns' have gained ground in recent years and now, Olivia Mitchell, and other like thinkers, are beginning at last to provide a backlash.

With the adoption of pecha-kucha and more thought about their audiences, I have seen more great presentations in the past year than in the past 6 that I've been with the Regional Support Centre. Put together and they have made a positive difference...

  • more engaging;
  • more informative;
  • more memorable.

But there is always a danger that we go too far and regard words as an enemy!

When used in moderation words can be a friend and help engage audiences, aiding their understanding.

Olivia Mitchell has prepared her 9 reasons why practitioners/learners/etc., should put words on their slides.

Visit http://www.speakingaboutpresenting.com/design/words-on-your-slides/ to see what I mean.

Mean while I look forward to continued improvements in presentations (PowerPoint or others)
