The Art Project powered by Google features interior tours of seventeen world famous art museums.

By selecting a museum from the list on the homepage users can...

  • virtually tour it using the same interface found on Google Maps Streetview;
  • create their own artwork collection while visiting each museum.

When inside the museum users can...

  • double click to zoom to a location;
  • open a floor plan overview and click on a room to navigate to that part of the museum;

Explore and Learn was developed as the educational part of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has an ever changing and large source of materials.

A lot of what is available, on this website, draws inspiration from the particular exhibitions currently featured. New materials get added often and full educational materials are created to support practitioners who are able to visit the museum.

The Art Zone

If you haven't done so yet, take a look at the National Gallery of Art (Washington, USA) interactive online Art Zone you should take some time to do so!   

There are currently sixteen applications that allow learners to create beautiful artwork that can then be printed or even animated!

Note: Adobe Shockwave Player is needed to use these applications.
